Salient CRGT Linux Administrator in Rockville, Maryland
Salient CRGT seeks a Linux Administrator for one of our leading federal clients: Food and Drug Administration.
In this role you will:
Install, configure, and maintain an open-source Content Management System (e.g. Drupal) and its supporting components in a Linux cloud environment
Perform server patching to ensure compliance with applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Diagnose and resolve problems in the production environment to minimize impact to mission critical systems
Coordinate with the development and infrastructure operations teams on O&M and Project related activities
Assist with the development, management, and subsequent enhancements to the automation engine and scripts associated with the code deployment process
Support integration with other technologies such as Akamai CDN and search solutions (e.g. Google Search Appliance, Solr, Elastic Search)
Write shell scripts and Ansible playbooks to automate routine processes
Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues within the AWS console and other cloud tools
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among the team
Provide on call support for production issues
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline, with 5 years (or commensurate experience).
3+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator
LAMP or similar experience (Linux, Apache Server, MySQL, and PHP)
1+ years of experience working in an AWS, Google, or Azure cloud environment
1+ years of experience working with the Git version control system
Experience writing Ansible playbooks
Bash, Python, and/or other programming or scripting experience. Solid scripting ability is critically important for this role
Understanding of CI/CD concepts, containerization, and Microservices
Understanding of Docker and building Docker containers
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile Software Development concepts
Working knowledge of networking hardware, protocols, and theories
Familiarity with IT security controls and documentation
Strong communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) skills with the ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences, including clients and team members
